N-Button Lite/Pro software Automation feature allows you to control relay board with push notification contact closure board. That means you match input channels on push notification board with relay channels on relay board to turn on or turn off relays when the input channel is tripped.
Here will show you how to turn on and turn off relay with push notification input channels by N-Button Lite/Pro software.
Task:
- Trip input channel 1 to Turn On relay channel 1
- Trip input channel 2 to Turn Off relay channel 1
Step 1. Download and install N-Button Lite or Pro software
Step 2. Connect your relay board and push notification board with your computer.
Step 3. Run N-Button Lite/Pro software. Click Devices Manager –> New to add relay board and push notification board to Devices Manager.

Step 4. Click Scan Channel to open Properties – Scan Channel. Select Device MyPushNotificationBoard added above, keep Bank ID 1, select Channel ID 1, select Style for Scan Channel widget.
Step 5. Repeat Step 4 to add a Scan Channel widget for Channel ID 2.
Here, Style is Text Label. You can input Caption for the text on the label. The default caption is Close when Push Notification channel is contact closure, otherwise the caption is Open. You also can select other Style for Scan Channel to show red or green when the channel is contact closure.
Step 6. Click OK on N-Button Lite/Pro Manager. Two Scan Channel widgets will show on your desktop with caption Open on them. Push the channel’s button or trigger the channel to closure, you will see caption Close showing on the widget. That indicates the push notification board works well with N-Button.
Step 7. Add a Relay Button widget for relay channel 1. It’s similar as Step 4. Just be sure you select Device – MyRelayBoard, Action – Toggle One Relay, Bank ID –1, Relay ID –1, select the Style which will show relay status.
Step 8. Click the Relay Button widget on your desktop to turn on/off relay. The relay status will be shown on the button, green for on and red for off. That makes sure the relay board works well with N-Button also.
Note: Here, only one Relay Button is added with action Toggle One Relay. You can add two buttons, one for Turn On One Relay, another for Turn Off One Relay. You can also add Relay Status widget just show the status of relay channel 1.
Step 9. Right-click on one of Scan Channel widget or Relay Button Widget to show pop-up menu, click N-Button Lite/Pro Manager to open the manager panel. Click Automation on N-Button Lite/Pro Manager to open Automation Manager. Click New to show Rule Type panel. Click Push Notification Contact Closure Rule to open setting panel.
Step 10. Click the first Setting button to select Device – MyPushNotificationBoard, Bank ID 1 and Channel ID 1, which you will trigger to turn on relay channel 1.
Step 11. Click the second Setting button to select:
- Action type –Relay Action
- Action Device – MyRelayBoard
- Control Action – Turn On One Relay
- Bank ID – 1
- Relay ID – 1
Step 12. Click OK on above panels back to Automation Manager panel. Follower the Step 7-9 to add another Push Notification Contact Closure Rule for Channel 2 to turn off relay channel 1. Be sure you select Channel 2 on MyPushNotificationBoard, and Turn Off One Relay for control action.
Step 13. Click OK on all above setting panels to finish Automation control setting until you see the Scan Channel widget and Relay Button widget on your desktop.
Step 14. Try to trip input channel 1 and 2. You will see the relay 1 is turned on by tripping input channel 1, and turned off by tripping input channel 2.
