Comm Operator is our first shareware. We started to write Comm Operator 5 years ago in C++. The main purpose is to debug the communication program between PC and Total Station.
At the beginning, Comm Operator is just a program that can send and receive strings. As we used it a lot, we added more functions that we needed. We decided to make it as a shareware since it becomes more and more functional.
Then, www.5dtool.com was created, Comm Operator v1.0 was released on it. Comm Operator was unique at that time because it was the only RS232 related tool that has programmable auto sending. It has a lot of users.
We decided to rewrite Comm Operator because Comm Operator v1.0 has some problems with dual core processors. We rewrote the whole software with VS2005 and it is a native .net program. It becomes steady and faster than before. F1 help is integrated to make it more easier to use.
At the same time, www.5dtool.com is changed to www.serialporttool.com to focuse on Serial Port communication software for RS232 related products. More products will be released on this site.
